Me in the Atlantic Ocean

I, Corey Kling have been studying at John Abbott College in the Web and Print field for the past 4 years. My life has been shaped by many people and health issues.

In July 99 when I was 13 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease. To me this was challenge, a game it was something I will beat it will not beat me. I control my disease; my disease does not control me. My disease made me realize at a young age that everything isn’t always going to be all well and happy. My experience dealing with Crohn’s has made me a better and stronger person.

My work experience has always revolved around public swimming pools. This summer I will be the Assistant Manager at Westpark Pool. Currently I am a lifeguard and instructor at Beaconsfield Recreation Center Pool. My experiences working at pools have made me more confident in my ability to speak with people of all ages and backgrounds and have made my public relations skills strong.

My design philosophy is there are always solutions to the impossible. My major design influence is Chris Garver. He is a talented artist. He specializes in the art of tattoo. The work he does inspires me to work on my drawing. All of the time he puts into his research and sketches for tattoos before putting the tattoo on a client is quite remarkable.

I have had the opportunity to work with various clients. Doing projects ranging from websites to logo creation.

My technical skills include such programs as MS office suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Flash and Quark. I am also able to do limited technical support. My programming skills include JavaScript PHP, HTML, CSS, XHTML.

I enjoy cycling and swimming. These two activities are great cardio work outs and are easy and fun to do. I also use them as an escape to clear my mind or to gather my thoughts. Another interest I have is tattoos. What I find interesting about tattoos is the meaning behind them.
